BEHIND THE SCENES

Melina Marx and Larry Dennis team up once again to bring you an evening of short movies on the big screen.

MELINA MARX has been producing, directing, and acting in theater and movies for over 20 years, in Boise and Los Angeles. Film production experience includes grip and script supervisor for the series "This Man’s Kitchen" and script supervisor for the web-series "Why We Fight". In front of the camera, Melina was cast in the pilot episode for Second City and as a wedding guest on ABC Studios’ "Private Practice". In 2014, she returned to Boise and started acting in and producing films with Larry Dennis, as well as participating in i48 and h48 Film Competitions. In 2017, she founded her own production company, X Marx the Spot Productions, under which she produced the official music video "Pirate Song" by the Boise band Hillfolk Noir.

LARRY DENNIS is an award winning theater director and filmmaker. He has directed 56 full length stage plays, including 6 musicals on the Morrison Center stage. He has made over 60 short films & music videos. His work has screened in the Boise Film Festival, Idaho Horror Film Festival, Idaho Independent Film Festival, Treefort (“Best Of”, 2013), BFUG (Boise Film Underground), 208 Music Video Festival (“Audience Choice”, 2013), Lake Dance Film Festival, 13 Stories Project (Best Historical, 2022), and Colossal Cinematic Showcase. He has entered a team into every i48 Film Competition since 2009 and every h48 since 2012.
